Lingerie Retail Assistant Position Description


This role requires:

Greeting people coming into the store, offering fittings and assistance as required.
Measuring customers to determine their correct size, and bringing options to the customer that will fit.
Understanding the range of sizing differences across the available brands.
Assessing the bras that a customer is trying on to determine the correct fit and bringing them alternate sizes and colours as required.
Confidently explaining correct bra fitting and wearing to customers. Helping customers learn how to correctly wear a bra.
Empathetic customer response in sales process. Helping customers with finding products they are looking for - with the aim of encouraging them to buy things they are enthusiastic about and to return for future purchases.
Operating the cash register, taking EFTPOS and cash payments and supply customers with receipts of purchases.
Wrapping goods neatly for customers.
Maintaining clear work areas and tidy stock displays, with correct hanging techniques and sizes kept in order.
Receiving parcels and processing stock as it arrives, including scanning into the system, security tagging, pricing,
and hanging.
Cleaning the store at the end of the day, including vacuuming floors and soft furnishings, dusting surfaces, and
wiping mirrors and windows.
Reporting any discrepancies or problems to the supervisor.
Responsible for security within the store, looking out for shoplifters, fraudulent credit cards etc.
Performing store opening and closing operations.
Reaching sales targets and increasing KPIs.
Participating in periodical stocktake of all goods, checking of physical stock levels to ensure size range is
maintained.

Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
Proficient in verbal and written English language.
Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management.
Telephone etiquette.
Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at
least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders.
